These concerts had
something for everyone at this festive season, with an eclectic mix of Christmas
and other sacred music: ranging from our first public performances of Vivaldi's
'Gloria', through selections from Bach's 'Christmas Oratorio',
to both well-known and less familiar carols, culminating with 'Hallelujah'
from Handel's 'Messiah'.
Hastings Choristers
Cantorus were accompanied by the recently-formed Hastings
Chamber Ensemble and, in Taree, by Peter Kneeshaw, Organist
Emeritus at St Mary's Cathedral in Sydney, while Cantabile presented
an item in its unique a capella style. The Taree concert also
featured
the local choir Kantabile in their first welcome performance in
association with Hastings Choristers.
