A message from the
Musical Director...
On July 5 2009 at 2.00
p.m. in MacKillop Senior College Hall Port Macquarie we again hosted
this annual get-together of choirs celebrating the joy of singing together
in a friendly non-competitive environment.
Last year our audiences voted
this our "best ever" concert and particularly loved the wide
variety of genres presented by the many different groups. Choirs and patrons
found the afternoon to be relaxed and fun, with many new friendships being
forged.
This year we welcomed our dear
friend Robin Carter from Sydney as guest accompaniste. Robin has
always been a very good friend to our choirs, and we were delighted to have her working with us once again.
Choirs varied from small to
large and came from all over the Mid North Coast. Part of our mission
is to support and encourage youth choristers and this was an ideal
opportunity to include two youth choirs.
As may be seen from the programme,
all choirs performed
their own repertoire and then joined together in a massed choir segment at the end of
the concert.
